How To Dress For Success - Edith Head

Edith Head is a legendary costume designer whose career spanned over 50 years.

She styled and dressed famous Hollywood actresses including Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor.

During her career, Head won eight Academy Awards and more Oscars than any other female costume designer.

Her book How To Dress For Success was first published in 1967.

In it, she offers timeless ideas on how to look your best irrespective of the occasion, your budget or your fashion tastes.

One of her most famous and repeated quotes is, "You can do anything you want in life if you dress for it."

The book How To Dress For Success is filled with humour, wit and good advice. It contains illustrations that show her easy styles and actionable ideas.

She talks about love in the chapter How to Dress to Get A Man and Keep Him. She talks about marriage in the chapter Success Formula for Getting and Keeping a Husband. She even talks about career and family in How to Dress To Get and Keep the Job and How to Dress Your Family for Success.

One of her success formulas is to have a trial run of the dress you plan to wear for an occasion ahead of time to prevent any avoidable unforeseen circumstances that could happen.

She encourages women to cover up and add a touch of unpredictability to dressing.
