Our Mission
SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"What do I like about being an SSBBW? There are a couple of things that come to mind. I love that SSBBW's seem to represent all the goodness and kindness of the human race. We exude love; love for people, love for food, love for life. Also, on a personal note, I have found an advantage to being an SSBBW. Our society is shallow. Putting looks and thinness above all other qualities. As an SSBBW, we have a way of weeding out those shallow people, and find the "good" people; the people that dont care about size, and see us for the people we are inside." ~ Ceci [SSBBW]

Book Review - 52 Ways To Live A Kick-Ass Life by Andrea Owen

Just like everyone of us, Andrea Owen has experienced several challenges. After a divorce and finding out her new boyfriend lied about having cancer to cover up his drug addiction and cheated on her as icing on the cake, Andrea played victim and wallowed in self pity.

Then in her own words, she got sick and tired of being sick and tired, and decided to take charge of her life. She dug deep to find a purpose to live for something greater, and that made all the difference in her life.

She started living on her terms and changed directions. Now, she's written a manifesto for everyone who is ready to play a bigger game and live a kick-ass life.

52 Ways To Live A Kick-Ass Life in 52 chapters. You can read one chapter every day or week, soak it in, internalise it, and take action. Andrea is a personal BFF and not a one-time read.

She talks about - silencing your inner critic, listening to your gut, letting go of resentments, being a legend in your own mind, forgiving yourself and loving yourself.

Andrea acknowledges that life is hard, healing hurt and moving forward is scary for most people. So she says, "work on yourself, work on your past, work on your addictions, work on your issues. You are the most precious thing you've got. You are priceless and worth all the work in the world to make you happy and fulfilled".

This book is for anyone who wants to move from feeling like a victim to living like a legend. Regardless of our past, if we make new choices, take radical responsibility for our lives, we can live better and be truly happy.

"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."
"There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it."
