SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"An SSBBW's softness is so pleasing to the touch. Her curves and width are so pleasing to the eyes. I've got long arms and I like a woman who can fill them. I love a round face and how an SSBBW's chin drapes gracefully to her body. I love a generous belly. As an SSBBW moves, her body undulates." ~ Gordon [FA]

ACCEPTANCE

Self Acceptance and Society/Fat Acceptance

Self acceptance is loving and appreciating yourself even if there are things you'd eventually like to change. Fat acceptance or society acceptance is getting society as a whole to accept that we have the same rights as everyone else and to reduce prejudice within the community.

Valentine's Day and the Official Facebook Relationship Status

On Facebook, the largest social media site in the world, a relationship status is broadcast to friends and followers in one of 11 distinct categories of identification (single, in a relationship, engaged, married, in a civil union, in a domestic partnership, in an open relationship, it's complicated, separated, divorced and widowed). But this Valentine's Day, I'm calling for a free text box so we can more accurately describe how where we're at in the broader spectrum of relationship reality.

For example, I have been divorced for 20 years and am content with the journey I have taken to be happily in tune with myself, my goals and my life. I would not trade the experiences of marriage, children, heartbreak and rediscovery for anything. I do not apologize for being alone and by the same token would never close the door to finding true love.

Therefore, a better representation of my true relationship status would be one of the following:

Now that I'm properly assigned to my self-created hypothetical relationship status box on Facebook, it's time to get to celebrating Valentine's Day properly.

Valentine's Day is all about the love. There's no getting around it. And if we really think about it, love truly is everywhere. It's in the touch of our greatest love, in the compassionate words from a friend, and the laughter from children and grandchildren that has a sound so distinctive and sweet.

Love can be found in a co-worker who brings an extra lunch from home for you because she knows you often bring a simple peanut butter sandwich day after day and understands that you struggle financially as a single parent. It can be found in the UPS man who doesn't have to walk an extra flight of stairs to delivery your packages but does it because he knows you have trouble walking.

Love can be found in so many places and in so many things. All we have to do commit to accepting that love is there and to returning it in kind. In big ways and small ways, loud ways and silent ways, we will find love and we can give love. We feel good when we receive love and we feel great when we give it.

I encourage you all this Valentine's Day and beyond, to accept and feel the love the comes to you every day with a kind and grateful heart. And in return, extend that love to yourself or someone else in an act of random kindness. When you think of more ways to give love, more love will inevitable find its way back to you.

Happy Valentine's Day to all, whatever your official relationship status may be.
