Feel like you're in a fashion rut? Hate everything in your wardrobe? Feel like you have no signature style? Don't despair! Every woman feels this way on some days. Even successful women who seem like they have their lives all figured out have these moments, more often than you'd think.

One trick I use to get myself out of this feeling is to stick with the basics, especially the ones that fit my body type and make me look good by default. You can never go wrong with certain outfits, and these are the ones we should create our signature style with.

Here are seven ideas to get you looking fabulous and out of the house on bad style days:

Maxi Skirts
Pair a tank top with a maxi flowy skirt and sandals and you're instantly beautiful! This is a feminine combination that is comfortably stylish. You can never go wrong with it. Pair bright colored skirts with neutral tops or vice versa. To make your legs seem longer than they are, you can wear the skirt as a high waist and cinch with a belt. This makes your waist look smaller too, as it flares out around your hips.
A bright coloured jacket
Pair jeans and a simple top or shirt with a bright jacket. This is not only comfy, and easy to wear but also makes you stand out and seem like one who knows her fashion. The pop of color makes you memorable in a crowd. It shows confidence because a woman who can wear color is a woman who's not afraid to be seen.
Wear something tailored
On the days when you feel bloated, wearing something tailored is a smart trick. With the perfect undergarments, a tailored outfit hugs you in all the right places and can lift your mood! The outfit does not have to be tight and uncomfortable. Make sure you have room to breathe!
Focus on your hair and makeup
Wear something that you're used to and makes you look good, and do something different with your hair and/or makeup. If you always wear your hair down, pin it up. If you always wear it curly, straighten it out. If your usual lip color is neutral, try a new color. Own your look for the day and have a swell time with it. You might find that it rocks, and people love it. Bam! You have a new style to rock from time to time.
Get creative with accessories
Update your outfits with a printed scarf, a cute jacket, or a layer of multiple necklaces. Accessories can turn an old or basic outfit into new and trendy. Don't be afraid to match colors and accessories that seem to clash. If it looks good to you, it is right for the day. Fashion has no rules!
No rules
Like I just said above, fashion really has no rules. If you feel good in it, and you love how you look; by all means, wear it and go out in it. Signature style comes from the inside out, and you should dress without a care for trends and fads. Because trends are made up by people like us. If the top names in fashion are confident enough to make things up as they go along, why shouldn't we?
Be simple
You can never go wrong with simplicity. A simple floral top paired with dark pants is classy and timeless. It is as forgiving as it is beautiful, and works for various occasions equally well.

So the next time you feel like you have no clothes to wear or style that makes a statement, read this post again and rummage through your closet. Remember that fashion has no rules, except loving how you look. Try new things and reuse old clothes by pairing them differently.

Have a great week and month, lovely ladies.

Fat Positive Blogs

Blogs are a wonderful source of information. I have found them to be a useful Fat resource, especially when it comes to body positivity and fatshion. It is so helpful to see what clothes look like on bodies that are shaped like ours. It is also helpful to know that there are others out there who have the same life struggles that we have. You might get a different perspective on how to deal with things, based on the experiences of others.

I recently joined a group of plus size bloggers. We are taking one fashion topic a month and doing a blog hop. Our first topic was leggings. We all did a blog about it, linked our blogs, and published them at the same time. It is so great to see the many different ways an item can be worn on a fat person, from smaller plus to super plus.

Here is a link to my blog. In it, you will find the links to all the other blogs.
