Self Acceptance and Society/Fat Acceptance
Self acceptance is loving and appreciating yourself even if there are things you'd eventually like to change. Fat acceptance or society acceptance is getting society as a whole to accept that we have the same rights as everyone else and to reduce prejudice within the community.

Feeling Lucky on St. Patrick's Day
With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, it's time to take a look at ways we feel lucky in life. Now mind you, I am neither lucky in love nor with scratch-off lottery tickets, but overall I feel pretty darned lucky in life.
St. Patrick's Day has been celebrated since the early 17th century and has evolved from a Christian feast day to celebrate the arrival of Christianity in Ireland to every college town's drunken festival of green beer and over-the-top "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" attire.
Not being Irish, I traditionally celebrate St. Patrick's Day by wearing a simple green button commemorating the occasion. My manager requires that we all wear some form of green during the week (her maiden name is Milligan, if you're wondering) to show our spirit. I've tried for years to get around this by stating that my eyes are green, but to no avail.
Speaking of green eyes...did you know that only two percent of the world's population have green eyes? Now I really do feel lucky!
There are truly so many ways I do feel lucky. I feel lucky to have two healthy grown children, two very energetic and loving grandchildren, a job I enjoy, friends I can count on, a faith that brings me peace and an attitude about life that makes me smile and see the best in every situation. Now that's lucky!
How do you feel lucky? What elements of your life make you take pause and bring you joy? If we take the time to really reflect, chances are we will find so many reasons to feel lucky. I hope this St. Patrick's Day that you will feel blessed, loved and lucky in every sense of the word!
