Angelina Duplisea's Bold Cameo in Miley Cyrus' New Music Video
The pop culture scene is opening up and becoming more welcoming to diverse faces, body types, skin tones, and ethnic beauties than the real world is.
As musicians, directors and creatives in more industries include diversity in their creations, minorities around the world are starting to see versions of themselves on TV, new media shows and magazines.
Miley Cyrus' recently released new music video “Mother's Daughter” is one of such. In it, she prominently features Angelina Duplisea, a Los-Angeles based plus-sized muse, model and self-proclaimed mischief maker.
As the caption for this bold, affirming photo on her Instagram page, Angelina Duplisea shares:
Next time you see a fat person posting pictures of themselves living their life, stop and ask yourself why you wish to spoil their joy. I guarantee that you can't come up with a valid reason that isn't based in your own ego gratification. Stop it and do better! We humans have a lot to learn, but we can start by fighting our personal biases and permitting people of all genders, races, sexualities, sizes, abilities and health levels to live harassment-free lives. Don't fuck with their freedom to feel happy and beautiful right now, not just when society says it's ok.
Thank you @mileycyrus for letting me be part of this art ?"
Miley went on to repost the photo to her over 9million followers, and while not every comment underneath was positive, it is beautiful to see little changes in the world as more people understand and appreciate men and women with unusual (exceptional!) body types and beauty.
