Getting Fashion and Style Right this 2018

Hello ladies! We hope the New Year has started off on a good note with you. If it has, good for you! And if it hasn't, remember this is just the beginning - we have a lot more months to go, a lot more life to live, and we're sure going to look good and stay happy through it all.

A lot of our daily struggles start with picking the right outfit. Almost every lady on the planet goes through numerous thoughts and changes before settling on an outfit for the day.

Here are some tips - dos and don'ts - to help you when you have to make a wardrobe choice.

Don't wait to lose weight to look great:

Embrace who you are now. We are all beautiful. Everyone is. It all depends on how YOU view yourself. Our motto in 2018 is self-acceptance and courage to keep moving.

It matters more what we think about ourselves than what others do. So buy fabulous clothing that fit you the way you are. And as we keep moving, we can switch up our styles for any size, any occasion, and any emotion.

Don't be afraid to embrace fashion trends:

On this life journey we're all on, some of us may never feel like we fit in. And because of this feeling, exclude ourselves from certain things like trends and style. But that's no way to live! So this month, take a good look at the trends around you. What can you incorporate into your wardrobe? Simple scarves, colorful lips, accessories that jingle or a long red trench coat… it's the season of love anyways :).

Select the best of the best of the season - colors, prints and styles that flatter you and combine them with your current wardrobe.

Do dress for your body shape, not your size:

This is a big one! Do you know the difference? Most times, we dress for our size, not our shapes because that's easier to understand and as long as an outfit fits, we consider it fine.

But fashion and style go beyond fit and size. What body shape do you have? What do people, especially celebrities and influencers, with your body shape wear? What are your best features?

Let's choose clothing that not only cover but enhance our natural curves. Having great style has absolutely nothing to do with size.

Do wear clothing that skims your body:

Distinguish between baggy and tight clothing. Tight clothes are no good, we all know that. But baggy clothes are no good either! As they make you look bigger than you are.

So make sure to try out your clothes before a big day or before leaving the shop. Outfits that skim over your curves may you look wonderful and beautiful. So try them out. With nice accessories, a bounce in your steps and a nice smile, heads will turn to appreciate you as you go around your business.

Do turn to plus size bloggers for more inspiration:

Check out for blogs for plus-size women from all over the globe. They are inspirational and beautiful women who have accepted themselves and reflect beauty and self-love every time they step out. We'll be doing an updated piece on some of the best plus-size bloggers to follow on Instagram soon. In the meantime, check this older compilation and stay inspired!

Enjoy the month!

Fat Positive Blogs

Blogs are a wonderful source of information. I have found them to be a useful Fat resource, especially when it comes to body positivity and fatshion. It is so helpful to see what clothes look like on bodies that are shaped like ours. It is also helpful to know that there are others out there who have the same life struggles that we have. You might get a different perspective on how to deal with things, based on the experiences of others.

I recently joined a group of plus size bloggers. We are taking one fashion topic a month and doing a blog hop. Our first topic was leggings. We all did a blog about it, linked our blogs, and published them at the same time. It is so great to see the many different ways an item can be worn on a fat person, from smaller plus to super plus.

Here is a link to my blog. In it, you will find the links to all the other blogs.
