Our Mission
SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"What do I like about being an SSBBW? There are a couple of things that come to mind. I love that SSBBW's seem to represent all the goodness and kindness of the human race. We exude love; love for people, love for food, love for life. Also, on a personal note, I have found an advantage to being an SSBBW. Our society is shallow. Putting looks and thinness above all other qualities. As an SSBBW, we have a way of weeding out those shallow people, and find the "good" people; the people that dont care about size, and see us for the people we are inside." ~ Ceci [SSBBW]

It's All About Lips This Month

Most of us everyday women rarely go to a beauty salon for simple things like everyday makeup or even washing our hair. These are things we can easily do at home.

Think about it, you (most likely) rarely think twice about applying lipstick on your way out of the house, even though it's a makeup piece that can change your entire look from drab to fab.

I, myself, only go to beauty salons for things I can't do myself like waxing or hair updos. However, I believe makeup for ladies is super important because our faces project our deepest essence, communicates with people when we speak with them; shows our true emotions when we look in their eyes, laugh, share our opinions and make facial expressions.

Your face is where people look when they want to know and understand you. And your lips… Your lips can keep one's eyes glued on you.

So this month, we're sharing brilliant tips on how to apply long-lasting lipstick that stands out and makes your lips look fuller.

The tips below will save years off your routine and years off your looks.

Use a lipliner to outline your lips

Lipliners define and frame the boundaries of your lips and keeps the lipstick from straying and staining your face.

Choose your lip liner carefully because you want it to be a natural looking color and well blended.

Before applying, moisturize your lips using light lip balm (this shouldn't be waxy balm) and scrub gently using a clean toothbrush.

You can even create an entire beauty look with just lip liner. In this case, after applying the lipliner, slightly bend the highlighter below the upper lip.

Define your lips to achieve fullness

To do this, create an X mark with your lip liner and apply lipstick on top.

Creating this X mark helps you determine your starting point as you apply lipstick.

Starting at the center of your lips where the X mark is, work outwards, applying your lipstick to your lips. For a lighter and/or more precise application, use a lip brush to apply your lipstick

Refine your line

Once your lips are lined and filled, one last thing to do is clean up and even out your lip line.

You can clean up with a bit of moisturizer or makeup remover on the edge of a cotton swab or kleenex. If you see that you need to refine the line, simply draw over the necessary areas with your lip liner, then use your lip brush to blend in where needed.

We hope these tips do not sound complicated to you! A beautiful, plum lip can make a change to an entire look.

Lip liners are cool and they increase the long-lasting wear of your lipstick too.

Fat Positive Blogs

Blogs are a wonderful source of information. I have found them to be a useful Fat resource, especially when it comes to body positivity and fatshion. It is so helpful to see what clothes look like on bodies that are shaped like ours. It is also helpful to know that there are others out there who have the same life struggles that we have. You might get a different perspective on how to deal with things, based on the experiences of others.

I recently joined a group of plus size bloggers. We are taking one fashion topic a month and doing a blog hop. Our first topic was leggings. We all did a blog about it, linked our blogs, and published them at the same time. It is so great to see the many different ways an item can be worn on a fat person, from smaller plus to super plus.

Here is a link to my blog. In it, you will find the links to all the other blogs.

Here is a list of some fat positive blogs that might help you on your journey:
