Needed Beauty Tips for Winter

Winter is the coldest season and the best time to wear stunning boots, cashmere sweaters and lots of layers of clothing. It is a beautiful season (in my opinion!) but the cold temperatures and indoor heat can leave us with dry skin and really frizzy hair. In order to maintain a soft supple skin and glowing hair during the season, I have come up with a winter beauty plan which I will share with you :)

SKIN

During this period, replace your water-based moisturizers with oil-based moisturizers. Apply oils such as olive oil, jojoba and Moroccan oils to your skin. Moisturizers containing water can freeze on the skin, and that's not good.
Remember the sun still shines during winter! So apply sunscreen to your face and hands whenever you are going out and don't forget to cover your eyes with UV sunglasses.
Drink lots of water to keep your skin looking fresh, hydrated and healthy.
Clean off your makeup with cotton wool dipped in olive oil. This will clean your face and moisturize it at the same time.
Hot baths are definitely the go-to way of showering during winter. Unfortunately, hot baths melt protective skin lipids and can cause further dryness of skin. I advise to try lukewarm baths instead.

HAIR

Condition your hair as often as you can. Conditioners help retain the moisture in the hair and prevent static hair.
When washing, use lukewarm water to wash your hair. Hot water will leave your hair static and frizzy, and you don't want that.
Dandruff causes dry, flaky scalp which is uncomfortable. Massage your scalp with oil preferably olive or coconut oil to prevent dandruff. It will leave you hair shiny.
Cover hair in cold winds and get a regular trim to get rid of split ends.
To prevent hair breakage and damage, avoid blow drying and brushing the hair while wet because the hair is most delicate when wet.

Follow this winter beauty plan and I'm sure you'll look great all through. Happy holidays and a happy new year to all our readers!

Fat Positive Blogs

Blogs are a wonderful source of information. I have found them to be a useful Fat resource, especially when it comes to body positivity and fatshion. It is so helpful to see what clothes look like on bodies that are shaped like ours. It is also helpful to know that there are others out there who have the same life struggles that we have. You might get a different perspective on how to deal with things, based on the experiences of others.

I recently joined a group of plus size bloggers. We are taking one fashion topic a month and doing a blog hop. Our first topic was leggings. We all did a blog about it, linked our blogs, and published them at the same time. It is so great to see the many different ways an item can be worn on a fat person, from smaller plus to super plus.

Here is a link to my blog. In it, you will find the links to all the other blogs.
