SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"I am attracted to SSBBWs for many reasons. I love the feel of their soft bodies. Anyone know a man who does not like the soft feeling of boobs? OK - there is the reason! Fundamental instinct. Nothing more, nothing less. An SSBBW is simply "boobs all over". And I am a touch addict - so there is no escape (pun not intended - but for real)." ~ Mogens (BC, Canada) [FA]

The Hunt for the Perfect SwimSuit

As summer and vacation on a beach approaches, I have started my quest for the perfect swimsuit. Should it be a one piece? Should it be a two piece? Should it be a skimpy two piece?? Does anyone even make a skimpy two piece in my size and that I would like?? These are all questions that have been swirling around in my head for the past month or so. I have searched high and low and this is what I have found.

There are stores that carry swimsuits in plus sizes, in their actual store. I have found the styles and sizes are limited, though. Lane Bryant and The Avenue both had a few to choose from, but Catherines is the only store I found to have something that would fit me. Their suits are cute, but not quite what I was looking for. So, I turned my attention to on-line shopping.

I was pleasantly surprised to be browsing an article on swimsuits in Glamour Magazine and they actually listed an option that goes up to 6X. Wow! A "normal" magazine listing something beyond 28 for the plus size crowd is a great thing. Glamour featured a cute two piece red suit from www.loveyourpeaches.com. I love the style of these suits and the fabric options. ByRo Designs, www.ByRoDesigns.etsy.com , does something similar. She has a few different styles, a few different fabrics, which all add up to many options. I talked to Ro about a suit. The key thing for me was being able to get a top that was a different size than my bottoms. Ro could make this happen.

I also browsed onestopplus.com. They offer selections form Torrid, The Avenue, Woman Within, Roamans, Ulla Popken, and more. There are many ranges of suits on this site. I decided to try a skimpy two piece. I have never worn one before and think that at the age of 40 it is high time that I try it!!! I was looking for something that would have support in my chest area. I wanted a bra fit in a swimming suit top. I found one on OneStopPlus with underwire that is sized like a bra. This same manufacturer didn't have bottoms in my size. But, I found some black bottoms from a different manufacturer in black that work well with the top. Even though they aren't made by the same company, they do work well together and the black color of the two pieces is almost identical.

It does help to have an idea of what you are looking for. Searching online is a great tool. If you find an online store with something you like, see if they have it at a local store to try on. Quite a few online stores, with actual store fronts, offer free shipping to the local store. If a size isn't available at the local store, they do offer free shipping to you. I have paid for quite a few things at Catherines that they didn't have in the store. They have shipped the items to me in less than a week.

Hope this all helps. It took a little bit of searching, but I did find almost exactly what I was looking for….my first two piece suit showing some skin, with just enough coverage, that fits me fairly well. Good luck in your search!

Fat Positive Blogs

Blogs are a wonderful source of information. I have found them to be a useful Fat resource, especially when it comes to body positivity and fatshion. It is so helpful to see what clothes look like on bodies that are shaped like ours. It is also helpful to know that there are others out there who have the same life struggles that we have. You might get a different perspective on how to deal with things, based on the experiences of others. SSBBW mag has a blog section. If you haven't checked it out, you should! SSBBW Magazine Blogs

I recently joined a group of plus size bloggers. We are taking one fashion topic a month and doing a blog hop. Our first topic was leggings. We all did a blog about it, linked our blogs, and published them at the same time. It is so great to see the many different ways an item can be worn on a fat person, from smaller plus to super plus.

Here is a link to my blog. In it, you will find the links to all the other blogs.
