SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"What do I like about being an SSBBW? There are a couple of things that come to mind. I love that SSBBW's seem to represent all the goodness and kindness of the human race. We exude love; love for people, love for food, love for life. Also, on a personal note, I have found an advantage to being an SSBBW. Our society is shallow. Putting looks and thinness above all other qualities. As an SSBBW, we have a way of weeding out those shallow people, and find the "good" people; the people that dont care about size, and see us for the people we are inside." ~ Ceci [SSBBW]

Well Rounded BBW Bash - Las Vegas

For many years, ever since I was a teenager, I've always wanted to come to Las Vegas to visit. Now, almost 40 years later, I finally made it. And had a good excuse to go. You see, I've always been attracted to larger women, so I would consider myself an "FA". I went to various BBW bashes in NYC, Boston, Toronto, and smaller home parties in Ottawa, Kingston, etc. I even went to a party in London, UK which was and still is called, "big girls paradise". But this time around, I went on a fantastic journey. I flew out to Las Vegas to not only attend that city for the first time in my life, but also went to the "Well Rounded BBW Bash". It was held at The Plaza Hotel in downtown Las Vegas, across from the Fremont Street Experience.

The bash was held for five days and each day there were some seminars on fulfillment in being big, a fashion show, a bingo game, etc..Each night was a different theme with one night being a costume party, another was karaoke, another was a hypnotist, yet another was a dress up party. So there was something for everyone. And at the end of each party, there would be an private pool party from 1am until 4am, at their roof top pool!! There were plenty of things to see and do. Of course, you have to deal with the hot weather the city has. Everyday was sunny and the temps averaged about 106 per day, with nighttime lows of the low 80s.

I was flying solo at this, but I also knew some of the friends that I have known over the years from the bashes in Toronto and Boston, and recently Buffalo, were going to be there. But as they say, if you think you're going to be there alone, you won't be for very long. There are people there willing to greet you. But keep in mind, "the bash is what you make it out to be". So if you put forth the effort to introduce yourself, then it'll be worth it and you'll end up making new friends. I did just that, though I am a wallflower for the most part. So this was a bit out of my comfort zone. But on the opposite end of the equation, I ended up adding about a dozen more people to my facebook friends, that I otherwise wouldn't.

The party was hosted by Brie Brown, who knows all about running these kinds of event. That's because for many years, she was one of the people who helped run the former BBW Network Bashes in Vegas. She started creating this bash in 2012 and it was such a success, that she made plans for the bash for this year. And the turnout? I think the numbers were over 600 attendees. People have come from all over the US, Canada, there was one person from Japan, one from the UK,one from Sweden, and one from Finland. So it's been getting people from all over the world for five days of fun.

I had such a great time, that I really didn't want to leave, but had to. I highly recommend this bash for anyone willing to travel to Vegas and enjoy! Next years bash is scheduled from July 14 - 20th. With packages starting at $169. The website for more info is http://www.wellroundedbbw.com.
