SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"The joys of (being an SSBBW) is we are more down to earth and more understanding. We know how it is to be avoided and we try not to avoid people because of that and I think we are more beautiful than the skinny women." ~ MeLissa [SSBBW]

However, there have been entertainment pieces that have celebrated plus sizes and shown the full range of who we are!

With so little time, so many films, TV shows, DVD, online show ... the list of media sources is endless! So do not be surprised if a few wonder movies or shows slipped past you. This March we revisit some gems that may have flown under the radar or are deserving of another look.

ABC Family made a gutsy move when they aired a new show called Huge. The family dramedy about a fat camp did not feature the typical sad, lonely, and friendless chubby kids. Instead, the TV show featured well-rounded and real characters for whom being fat may or may not be an issue.

Amid speculation that that the show reward fat kids with a sense of self-esteem and external criticisms, the show was cancelled after only 10 episodes. Nevertheless, what great episodes they are!
