Fashion/Beauty information for SSBBWs/BBWs
Do you know of a great store or website that sells clothing for SSBBW or a beauty produce that you'd like us to review? Or perhaps you want to write a review yourself and see it in print! Let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org
I recently read a mascara review article in one of the popular magazines you find in a doctor's office. They had 5 different brands, from cheap to expensive. They all did different things, so they implied you needed all! I decided to do my own review of a few, but picked up one of the top brands they had listed.
The best, all-around, cheap mascara the article listed was Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show Off Mascara, Black. This one is $6+, depending on where you get it, and is offered at many local retailers. According to Rimmel's website, this mascara has "scandalous volume and lift, for lashes to really show off". They only thing scandalous I found about the mascara is the raccoon eyes it gave me by the end of the work day. This one did not work for me.
Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Mascara is another one I tried recently. This one retails for around $23 and is available at Ulta, Sephora, etc. "Lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts, separates", it does everything but make you dinner! I did like this mascara. It wore well; I had great lashes, and no raccoon eyes. I am not really sure it beat my favorite mascara, though.
I use bareMinerals makeup, and usually end up getting one of their Flawless Definition mascaras in the kits I buy. This one retails for around $18. This does all the things the "They're Real" mascara does. I find them very similar. If I didn't get this in a kit, would I buy it by itself? Probably not.
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara, False Fiber Lashes is great mascara. Usually around $8 - $9 and available at many local stores. The fibers do extend and thicken your lashes. I use this one more for a night out, applying several coats.
My all-time favorite, tried and true mascara is still CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Blasting Mascara. Depending on where you get it, it might be $6 to $9. I wear this one on a daily basis. It lasts throughout the whole day, and is easy to get off at night.
When I want more pizzazz that my mascara alone can't provide alone, I add a few Ardell DuraLash Naturals lash pieces to the outer corners of my eyes. They are easy to apply and are more subtle than a full set of false lashes, even though I love those too. These retail for around $5.

Fat Positive Blogs
Blogs are a wonderful source of information. I have found them to be a useful Fat resource, especially when it comes to body positivity and fatshion. It is so helpful to see what clothes look like on bodies that are shaped like ours. It is also helpful to know that there are others out there who have the same life struggles that we have. You might get a different perspective on how to deal with things, based on the experiences of others. SSBBW mag has a blog section. If you haven't checked it out, you should! SSBBW Magazine Blogs
I recently joined a group of plus size bloggers. We are taking one fashion topic a month and doing a blog hop. Our first topic was leggings. We all did a blog about it, linked our blogs, and published them at the same time. It is so great to see the many different ways an item can be worn on a fat person, from smaller plus to super plus.
Here is a link to my blog. In it, you will find the links to all the other blogs.
Here is a list of some fat positive blogs that might help you on your journey:
I know there are plenty more. I would love to hear about blogs you visit on a regular basis! Email me! <3
