Beauty Box Subscriptions

There are many beauty boxes on the market that charge you a fixed price per month to get samples/new products. Great way to try things out that you might have been curious about or never even heard of! I have also used many of the items in my travel bag, because the size is usually perfect for travel. Here is a list and a summary of some the subscriptions:

Beauty Army: This one starts out with a beauty profile to give you a selection of personalized products to choose from. You can choose up to 6 beauty samples for $12 a month. I don't have any personal feedback on this one.

Beauty Box 5: I believe this box is similar to Birchbox. 4 to 5 beauty samples arrive each month in a cardboard box. The cost is $12 per month. The reviews I have read say that they are all products you use, but might be a new brand or one you aren't familiar with.

Birchbox: Birchbox was my first subscription box. It is $10 a month and contains samples of makeup, hair products, skincare products, fragrances, and sometimes a few other surprises. When I started receiving the subscription, I was excited by the contents of the box. They were decent sized samples of things I have never tried before. The packaging was awesome. The items come in a cardboard box that I used for other things, like paper crafting. After a while, I was less excited about the product content and sizes and more excited about what I could do with the box it all came in. I recently cancelled my subscription because of this. I do think it is a good starter box for someone new to the subscription box world.

Goodebox: This box is trial sized healthy, sustainable beauty products. Looking for an alternative to chemicals? This is the "all natural" box. There are 6 to 7 samples in this box for $16 a month.

Glossybox: According to Glossybox's website "you select a plan, fill out your beauty, and we'll send you a box filled with 5-6 luxury sized-samples", all for $21 a month. I have not tried this box, but I have friends who have tried it. They got things like toothpaste, Zoya polish, and some creams and lotions. I have received Zoya polish in Birchbox for half the price. I am not really impressed with what I have heard about this box.

IPSY: This is my latest subscription and I have been really happy with it. You get 4 to 5 beauty samples in a makeup bag each month for $10. I have received full sized products in the bag. The "sample" sizes are really travel size. There have been things like polish, eyeliner, hairspray, oil, mascara, eye shadow, etc. Some of the products I have heard of and some I haven't. Of all the boxes, I would recommend this box.

Julep: I am waiting for my first Julep subscription. I found and online coupon (freebox) and was able to get my first box for the cost of shipping. The subscription costs $20 a month. I know Julep as polish. After you take their beauty quiz, you will get a box with new polish and beauty products. I love polish, so I am excited to see what the first box has to offer. You can cancel at any time. Friends who have received this box have gotten too much polish! LOL. If you love polish, this might be the one for you.

Most of the boxes do off some form of a discount or coupons on products received in the current month's box. It might be on their website or the actual product's website. I have also heard of those who like to leave reviews receiving bonus products or more discounts.
