Profiling SSBBWs and their views, thoughts and issues

To help inspire those SSBBWs who haven't yet gotten that they are wonderful, caring, sexy, special people. Someone who is accepting of themselves, who is happy (either alone or with a loving mate), perhaps someone who works or does good things for the community. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do. There is so much negativity on the net towards SSBBWs that we want to show the good side. If you know someone who fits this bill or feel you do and want to get profiled, let us know at

As it's Valentine's this month we are profiling a couple in our SSBBW and FA profiles.

This month we are profiling April, a 31 year old from Southern Illinois

SSBBW Magazine: What is your current weight?

SSBBW: 413

SSBBW Magazine: What body shape would you say you are?

SSBBW: Apple

SSBBW Magazine: Have you always been an SSBBW?

SSBBW: When I was a smaller child I wasn't what you would call fat. I was always running around doing something. I was in cheerleading and softball and track by junior high and around 145 pounds. My eighth grade year however was different. My parents got divorced and I ate, and ate, and ate. Well after all of the sports was over and I was entering High school I wasn't put on any team or cheerleading and was still eating and was ballooned to about 200. Well I then had some death in my family and that made me eat even more. I later was told I was an emotional eater.

SSBBW Magazine: Why would you be an inspiration to other SSBBWs?

SSBBW: I really do not think I have done anything to inspire anyone. I guess if I had to pick something it would be that I have never let weight get in my way of going to college. I of course was one of the largest people in my classes but I went and made friends and didn't just burrow myself in my bedroom and hide from the world and eat.

SSBBW Magazine: What are the joys of being an ssbbw?

SSBBW: To be honest I don't like being one. My boyfriend likes it though, so that's a plus.

SSBBW Magazine: What are the drawbacks?

SSBBW: On this question I could go for days. I don't want to get anyone feeling down. My legs, ankles, feet and back hurt all the time. I am depressed no matter what pill, therapy or talking I do. I constantly think of food and don't want to. I want to exercise but hurt so bad I can't. I want stomach surgery but that cost way more than I can afford. I just want to be able to do daily things and not hurt or out of breath.

SSBBW Magazine: What is it like being an SSBBW in today's society?

SSBBW: It is horrible. The laughs, stares, shunning and quiet glares. Finding clothes that fit my entire body is horrible. Going out to eat and getting that look of should you be eating that.

SSBBW Magazine: How would you like to change society's view of SSBBW?

SSBBW: That we are human, have feelings and bleed too. We might be big for a certain reason. It isn't because we sit around eating all day everyday.

SSBBW Magazine: What do people/companies serving the public need to do to accommodate ssbbws?

SSBBW: Bigger seats, tables, beds, toilets, doorways, furniture, car seats and belts.

SSBBW Magazine: Can you recommend such people/services who do?

SSBBW: Shawnee Community College (My College) They have tables to work at and if you need more room they help. They have an elevator and bigger doorways. This year they have some aerobics stuff going on with Curves. It is nice.

SSBBW Magazine: Do you follow any exercise or healthy eating regimes? If so, what are they?

SSBBW:I love fruits and veggies. I watch my foods because I am lactose intolerant. Exercise hurts my feet but I do try to do daily living tasks.

SSBBW Magazine: If you could wave a magic wand and be 130 lbs, would you?

SSBBW Magazine: Do you have a favorite overweight actor/actress?

SSBBW: I love John Goodman and Queen Latifah.

SSBBW Magazine: What would you like to say to all the SSBBWs reading this?

SSBBW: If you love who you are, then that is wonderful. I am happy for you and more power to you. I would never judge you for your decision. I am just tired of hurting and feeling like crap.

SSBBW Magazine: What would you like to say to those just reading this out of curiosity about the SSBBW / FA community?

SSBBW: Don't judge before you know. Know before you judge. We have a heart, mind, soul, and feelings.

SSBBW Magazine: Thank you April

Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.
