Heavier Trends in Fashion

It's about time!

Women who look real are back in fashion. If you have been taking a closer look at what is on the fashion runways in recent months, you may have noticed there are more and more plus-sized women taking that runway stroll. This is because when it comes to fashion trends, fat Is back!

If you look around, and pay attention to what is happening in the fashion industry, you will see signs everywhere. One item of note was the Miss England competition, earlier this year. One of the finalists was Chloe Marshall, a plus-sized model that thinks beauty is not dictated by a low dress size.

The trend seemed to become even more obvious in this season's reality TV show, America's next top model. The winner this year was Whitney Thompson, a size 10. While that may not seem that big, you must keep in mind this is from the modeling world that in the past had looked for women that were a size 0 to 3.

This is a major step and has led to an increase in desire for plus-sized models. Many modeling agencies say they have been searching far and wide for more plus-sized models to fit the fashion trend for heavier women, as well as fill a need to show real women, wearing real clothes that other women will be able to picture themselves in.

Many plus-sized models also point out that the key to beauty is not in your weight, but in your mentality. They say a woman of any size, who has a lot of self-confidence, will be attractive and can command any room.

Picking the Right Bathing Suit

The summer is here with promises of fun in the sun this season. It is time to look for the perfect swimsuit so that you can enjoy yourself at the pool, on the beach or vacationing on a cruise. Even if you do not plan on swimming, having the perfect swimsuit is a must. You can still enjoy sitting poolside enjoying a refreshing glass of ice tea as you show off your curves in a great swimsuit.

Since we all come in different shapes and sizes we must be very careful when picking out the right suit. Donít be afraid to take a friend along for help in picking out your suit. Your husband or boyfriend may also enjoy watching you try on and model swimsuits. If you shop in stores, there are sales persons to assist you also. Shopping online is a bit trickier. You will have to rely on customer reviews of how the clothing fits and take a shot in the dark. Most companies have an excellent return policy if the swimsuit doesnít fit the way you would like.

There are many styles of swimsuit to choose from. Being a SSBBW myself I shy away from swimsuits that are too revealing and donít support me in the areas I need the most. Some key points to keep in mind when trying on swimsuits is to make sure you feel comfortable in the swimsuit. Donít be afraid to get a larger size if it means you and all your vital organs will be able to breathe freely. Decide ahead of time what your spending budget is for swimsuits because they can be pricey. Be sure to stay within your budget limit. Also decide what type of swimsuit you are looking for. You have your choice of the traditional one piece swimsuit, tankinis, and swimdresses. Most importantly, know your body type and get a swim suit that will accentuate your positive features and deemphasize your flaws.

No matter what type of swimsuit you choose, enjoy life and enjoy the summer weather. Listed below are a few websites to find quality swimsuits at reasonable prices.

Fire the guns and shout for freedom,
See the flag above unfurled!
Hail the stars and stripes forever,
Dearest flag in all the world."
