When you get out of bed in the morning do you have severe pain in the heel of your foot? Does it ease after walking on it a bit? At the end of the day is there a dull ache in your heel? If you answered yes to these questions then you may be suffering from plantar fasciitis.
Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the thick band of tissue that covers the bones on the bottom of your foot (called the plantar fascia). The plantar fascia extends from the heel to the ball of the foot. Obesity, sudden weight gain, running, or standing on your feet for long hours can cause this condition.
This condition can be treated at home by rubbing a cream that contains aspirin (... ) a few times a day into the heel, by putting ice on it for 10-15 minutes twice a day, by resting the foot and by doing some simple stretching exercises to stretch the muscles in the foot. One exercise is to crumple a piece of paper towel into a ball and then try picking it up with your toes.
Home remedies will take months to treat the condition properly. If these do not work then your physician may use steroids or perhaps even surgery.

Weight Loss Surgery can be scary words or they can be words of hope. Most SSBBWs have thought of or had someone mention weight loss surgery. It's obviously not for everyone. There are SSBBWs who have accepted that they are large and always will be. There are some who like being large and don't want to change. And there are others who live day to day with pain, both physical and emotional, of carrying the extra weight that have various reasons for wanting to do something about it.
Everyone has a view on weight loss surgery be it good or bad or even neutral. Which is perfectly fine as we are all entitled to our opinions. One reader has made the decision to have weight loss surgery and will take us on her journey. What are your thoughts on weight loss surgery? Have you had weight loss surgery? Our forums are available for you to discuss and give your views on this topic.
